Aesthetic phlebology
This intervention, also called safenectomy, is indicated
for large varicose veins, and consist in removing the
internal saphenous vein through two small incisions, one in groin
area and the other in the ankle, as well as in the varicose block
by using mini incisions that practically donīt leave any scars
(microsurgery). This surgery is performed under general anesthesia
or epidural and the time of confinement is less than 24
hours.
During 8-9 days an elastic bandaging must be used from the thigh
to the foot, letting the patient walk perfectly. Past this time
laps, the stitching is removed and to be able to resume normal
activities, 15-20 days must be estimated.
