gynecomastia
It consists in an enlargement of the mammary glands in
men, usually without any other symptom. Generally, it
is a benign clinical profile that affects men from 50 to 70 years
old.
It is very common for it to appear during puberty and disappear
one or two years later. Its cause is usually related to a deficient
production of testosterone or an elevated production of estrogen.
When its cause is due to medication, you can reverse this problem
by suspending the medication. The surgical solution is reserved
to those cases when the treatment with medication has not worked
out or there are psychological disorders involved.
