Chin surgery or mentoplasty
This surgery corrects the lack or excess in the development of the chin.
When the lack of development is moderate, a silicone graft is placed, or the
tip of the jaw is cut and the position of this bonny segment is modified.
The chin surgery, either for reduction or enlargement, can be done in
combination with a rhinoplasty, to proportion the relationship between the
nose, the lips and the chin, obtaining a harmonic profile.
If there is a bad occlusion, meaning, a bad relationship between
the upper dental arcade and the inferior dental arcade, the chin
surgery is necessary, not an election. These cases require a more
complex procedure to be able to modify the chinīs position.
