Breast Reconstruction
Living with a breast cancer diagnose is difficult, but many women have
demonstrated that one may overcome this illness. Today´s science offers
exceptional possibilities to reestablish their physical and emotional well
being.
With high probabilities they will, or have already done, a mastectomy, which
consists of the removal of the breast tissue attached (simultaneously) to
the skin and the complex nipple-areola. Even though the reconstruction will
never compensate the loss of a breast, the results are usually very good.
It´s important that you learn about your posibillities. You can decide to
have a reconstruction done in the same intervention as the mastectomy or in
a following phase, weeks or even years later.
